Meet Mrs. Sharon Hunter and Sustahgirl
Describe yourself for our visitors. Where are you from? (ex. hobbies, favorite music, ministries)
I am from Louisville Kentucky. Singing is something I love to do so it is a ministry and hobby. And honestly I would say IM eclectic as it pertains to music, I love all types of music. But my favorite is Kingdom music. I love my family and I love helping my husband Pastor
How did you start your writing journey?
Very first time I wrote was for the young authors club. The book was about a boy who was having trouble fitting in and his guardian angel came to help. Nobody can see the angel just him. I think I was in maybe the third or fourth grade
Tell us about your current book?
This is a fun read for parents reading to their children as well as children reading and completing a book for the first time. It’s about a little Christian girl that sometimes gets in trouble. Sustahgirl is the main character and she is headstrong. However it’s mostly about family. We live in a time where we have to teach people the importance of family and relationship. Sometimes that can come and form of a good book.
How did you come up with ideas for this book?
People, places, things ,child, and memories even comments trigger a plethora of thoughts that lead to stories
Ultimately, what do you want readers to gain from your book?
I want every young reader to gain a healthy appetite for reading. I pray that the spiritual lesson intrigues them to study more about God. And I really want them to have fun in the world of Sustahgirl so that if their world seems a little troublesome they can find a happy place in the book
What is the most surprising thing you have learned in creating books?
The discipline it takes to write every day something. The courage to sit down and do it, and the willingness to give up some fun things that you want to do so you can accomplish what’s in you
Name 3 things that it takes to make a successful author, in your opinion? Openness to receive direction, a passion for what you were writing about, and again discipline to do it
What advice would you give a new writer?
Don’t be afraid of the work. Be realistic about the work. And don’t quit
What can we expect from you in the future?
More books about Sustahgirl and her funny adventures. The name of the business is Sustahgirl Enterprises so also books to come that Are meant to help women, single parents, others to overcome life’s troublesome obstacles
Where can visitors find you online?
