Need Clear Vision – Go Around

Need Clear Vision – Go Around

As most of you know, I travel alot.  Lately, I’ve been driving because of the close distance of the events.  But I confess I have a little road rage.  Yes, pray for me.  I was recently driving and told my husband to take a picture of the truck in front of me.  The truck driver was doing nothing wrong so don’t contact the company.  I was thinking about vision and how this truck was blocking my vision.  I couldn’t see over or around the vehicle.  I had to rely on my own spacing to not hit the truck and monitor my speed closely.  I wouldn’t know if the truck would stop suddenly because I didn’t have a clear vision of what was ahead.  Now my second confession is that I have control issues.  Please pray much for me.  I waited, made sure that I was safe to do so but as soon as I could I went around this truck.  Why?  I couldn’t see clearly and I was relying on someone else to control my vision, speed and how fast I would get from point a to point b.  Not on my watch if I can help it.
So it made me think.  What are we relying on to control our vision, speed of transportation and arrival time to destiny? When you can’t see clearly, you rely on others.  Are they experienced, do they even know the way and can they take you somewhere they’ve never been?  I have no problem with the Holy Spirit leading, guiding and directing me.  I will ride behind the Holy Spirit until death.  But somethings we let lead are not divine at all.  We say nothing or sometimes complain, but still keep following it and letting it lead even though we have no direct order to keep following.  I took driving liberties and safely went around what was trying to lead me and I took the lead with the vision that I had. Now you might now agree with my rationale and that’s okay, but with the days that are ahead, I want to have a clear 2020 Vision.  Blessings.

Birthed in the Basement

Now before you all think I was born in a basement.  That is not true.  I was born on May 29 in Methodist Hospital in Louisville, KY.  Now that is settled.

I realize looking at the picture above that it all started in the basement of my parent’s house.  I learned to direct choirs in my parent’s basement to the records, yes records of Andre Crouch, The Hawkins and others on my turn table with the 8-track/cassette player. I directed my first choir in Middle School at 12 years old at Crosby Middle School. I was in the marching band in high school and didn’t try out to be the drum major but my band director Mr. Anderson taught me more than he’ll ever know that I took to church with me and around the country. I directed the Pastor’s Choir, Women’s Choir, National Children’s Choir, Assistant and State Minister of Music for Years. Music will always be my first love, but I’m more grateful now for the love and drive of that 8 year old in the basement.  No one made me, threatened me or bribed me to practice waving my arms in front of mid-air and to know one but the people that were in my imagination but me.  I loved it so much that I was self-motivated.  I didn’t need anyone to tell me, drive me, direct me, coerce or make me.  To this day, I am self-motivated, driven and focused to achieve my life dreams, goals and fulfill opportunities beyond my wildest dreams.  But it all started in the basement.  My business started in my living room.  I conduct business all over the U.S. and abroad because of that drive in the basement.  I encourage, write blog posts, create courses, written more than 50 books, do webinars, have a membership group and speak to people each and every day about their goals, gifts and destiny.  But, I can’t do it for you.  I can’t make you.  I can encourage but you’ve got to find your own drive, from your own basement, closet, living room or dining room table that energizes and fuels your “want to” every day.  Even if I don’t feel like it, I keep it moving.  Why?  Everyday I wake up, I see that 8 year old in the mirror.

I say it every day and will again right now, “When you are ready, I’m ready.  If you need me, reach out and let’s talk.” Julia

Fantasy. Dreams. Goals.

Fantasy. Dream or Goal?

We’ve all had fantasies of grandeur. I’ve had dreams of things that God was preparing me for that I saw it in my sleep first. When I woke up, I started inquiring and then working on what I only saw in my sleep. Finally, I’m striving, working and setting new goals every day. With God’s help, I’m reaching them and then make new goals and reach them. But some of you are stuck at the fantasy stage. You like the imagination, toying with the idea of that thing in your mind, keeping it hid and pulling it out again in your private time or in your sleep. But when are you going to actually put in the work of making that fantasy a goal, with the effort, strategy, perseverance and discipline that it will take to make that fantasy an actual reality. When? That’s a question only you can answer but let me tell you that the clock is ticking and tomorrow is not promised. If you wait much longer, it will be next year and the year after that and it won’t get done. Those plant and flowers in the picture above did grow on their own via fantasy. Someone had to plant, water, fertilize, weed and seed those flowers. It didn’t happen on its own, there is work behind your dreams and goals.

Here are four ways to make your dreams a reality:

  1. Tell someone else the dream and make them hold you accountable.
  2. Email, call, follow on social media and/or write someone that actually does what you want to do.
  3. Revisit the goals you had in January. Determine where to start.
  4. Start. Yes I said it. Start. Uncomfortable, wobbly, make tons of mistakes, nobody else believes in you but you which won’t matter in the end but start.

Move

The Best Time to Move is Now…

These are my actual sneakers on the steps of where I live. I am not a runner by nature or enjoy exercise at all but I’m clearly on the move. If you follow me on social media or look at the calendar/itinerary on this website, you will see all of the places that I have been or intend to go. Slowly, surely, stopping frequently and take naps when I need to but I’m still moving. What have you planned, prayed about, prepared yourself for mentally and physically and not done? You’ve thought it out, written out the plans and have the money to pay for it but still haven’t done it.

Know this, eventually, to reach your goal, achieve anything or succeed at doing anything, you have to move, start and like NIKE, just do it. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live a life of regret or wishing that I should have at least tried it. I would rather try, fail and learn from the failure than let my fear get the best of me. I’m cautious and some say scary by nature but when it comes to purpose, my gifts and abilities, I go for it. Scared, nervous and excited all at the same time but in the end, I have no regrets. I may not have the money for it in my hands, right now but I now have a goal to save, work and prepare my finances for. It may be delayed but not denied. The best time to MOVE, is now. Let’s go!

BLOOM!

I don’t know how the first quarter of 2019 but for us here at BK Royston Publishing, it was off and running. It has been non-stop and I’m super glad about it. Spring is here and things are all in BLOOM. The winter is hopefully over and Spring and Summer are on their way to help us recharge, relax and push through until the next season starts. My question to you is what in your life did you plant over the winter holidays and when the new year began? Have you started? Did you make a plan? Have you asked someone? You can expect to reap a harvest, grow a plant or business unless you sow the seeds, do the work, take care of what is growing and then celebrate in the fall for all of your hard work and labor. Now is the time to sow the seeds of success. Don’t sit back and complain about what someone else worked to accomplish, make some things happen in your own life. Celebrate you! Celebrate others! Celebrate together! Bloom where you are planted. Plant something to Bloom. If I can help, reach out to me and let’s talk about what you plan to plant by visiting http://bit.ly/talkwithroyston. Let’s go!
