Be Strategic

When I was still in the classroom and Brian was still at UPS 3rd shift during the week, Saturday mornings were my time to plan, pray, prepare and push in my business.  I worked on my business everyday but Saturday morning, I could work in my pajamas and not have to drive 45 minutes down the Greenbelt.  I was appreciative of my job but it was a call and a job not my passion.  My passion made me get up on Saturday mornings when I could have slept in and work on my dream and goals for the week or month, not just to dream it but work on it.  To live the life that I live now, I had to work, build, invest, pray, study and work some more to now be retired and doing what I love full-time.  Oh it’s still work, it’s still hard some days but it’s on my terms, with careful planning, budgets, taxes, mistakes too, corrections, disappointments and victories too!  But God has guided me, Brian has loved and supported me, my family and friends are cheering me on and my clients have taken a chance on me.

So what have you just been dreaming about that you need to switch into asking questions about or doing research about?  Some of you may need to move to the Planning and ultimately putting a date on the Launching Stage but you determine when you’re ready.  I guarantee you when you launch, it is a roller coaster ride.  Intend to Win!

So, no matter if you’re reading this on a Saturday morning or another day of the week, be intentional, soul search and above all Strategic about your next move.  Let’s go!   #bkroystonpublishing #royalmediapublishing #bookbusinessboss #liveyourbestlife #GiftedforGreatness #envisionradio #encouragement #Strategic #Intentional

Mother May I?  Yes You May!

Welcome to May and Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, auntie, sister or foster mom who has ever impacted someone’s life.

My father and mother used to tag team on their children.  If we went and asked my dad first he would say, “what did your mama say?”  If we asked mama first, she would say, “what did your daddy say?”  They made sure that they were on the same page with discipline, advice, permission as well as rewards.  But one thing we knew that they both would say and sometimes at the same time was, “you can do anything that you set your mind to do.”  My dad would add, “as long as human beings are designed to do it.”  So parental support, advice, money, opportunity and cheering us on was NEVER a problem in the Foree Household.  We may not always agree but we knew that we were loved, supported and always had a home to come back to no matter what.  So I ask you, are you delaying doing something in your life because you are waiting on someone to give you permission?  Do you realize that you may never get permission from another human being?  In your career, life or business, you have to give your own self permission and wait for anyone else.  Today, my father is deceased and can no longer give me permission or encourage me to do things in my life or business.  My mother, still to this day says, “go for it.”  My husband says, “how much?” first and then says, “let’s do it.”  Lol.  But seriously, you are gifted, talented, have the desire, can save the money (you can) and I’m here to help.  What’s stopping you really?  It is you.  I’m here to give you permission, tell you to push on the forward button, hard and fast because your life depends on it.  Go for it.  If you need my help, schedule a time at www.talkwithroyston.com but otherwise, let nothing stop you from your dream.  Julia May I?  Yes You May!

It’s my birthday month too, I’ll be 59 on May 29th, so I’m offering 59% off of everything in my store, www.juliaroystonstore.com.  Use the discount code, ‘royalbirthday’ Take advantage of it.  May 31st, it’s all over.  Let’s go!

Welcome April

As you can tell, I love sports and as a business owner, I get motivation from anywhere and that includes sports.  Quarter 1 for me in sports is used to work out the kinks, size up your opponent and play to your strengths instead of your weaknesses especially if one of the team is injured.  So what have you found out in Quarter 1 about you and your current situation?  Do you need to change up your strategy?  Do you need to rethink the goal? Never because you’re in it to win it but how you win is left up to you.  Right?  Yes and No.  Sometimes you win by doing what you’ve always done but going harder.  Sometimes you win when you change up everything that you’ve ever done or ever thought about doing.  The next 3 quarters of the year are wide open.  What will you do in the next 3 quarters?  Will each upcoming day, week,  month and quarter look the same or are you going to go hard, switch it up so that you can go home with the win?  It’s left up to you so I wish you well and Let’s GO!!!

March Madness

In the United States, the term “March Madness” is normally associated with basketball and especially the NCAA and NIT tournaments.  I watch basketball especially during the tournament but I never actually played basketball.  I was in the band and I digress.  Lol.  Just like basketball fans are clearly mad about their sport, I am clearly madly in love with what I do.  I go hard for it.  I travel for it.  I spend and invest my time, energy and money into what I do.  I even invest my knowledge into others whether they are ready or not.  Why?  Because I see things in others that they may not have considered or thought of themselves.  So you can truly say that I am mad about writing, publishing, promoting, business and life, period.  I am truly loving and living my best life.  I imagined it so much while teaching in the classroom that now that it is possible, I often pinch myself and remind myself that it’s real.  What are you truly mad about that you don’t know if it will become real or will it remain a dream?  I can’t speak for you but for me I worked at it everyday.  I learned from others and invested in coaching, mentoring, videos, training and whatever else would help me be where I am today.  What does ‘March Madness’ look like for you?  What are you investing in, going ‘hard for’ and loving even in its beginning stages?  Life is short. Life is hard at times but try to find something that you love and be ‘mad’ about it.  If you need help, let’s have a conversation at www.talkwithroyston.com.  Let’s go!

Trainings coming up are a free training for creating Children’s Books on March 17th at 7:00 p.m. EST, register at www.creategreatkidsbooks.com

If you’re ready to write a book, no matter the genre, the 5-Week Intensive Write that Book Now Boot Camp, starts April 19 at 7:00 p.m. EST, register at www.bkroystonpublishing.com/classes.

Be blessed and make it a great, “March Madness!”

Love, Learn and Lead

February is the month of Love but also Learning because of Black History Month.  There is never a February that doesn’t go by that I don’t learn something new about an African American inventor, developer or achiever.  It is incredible how much can be accomplished when you put your mind to it.  It may not start off perfect. There may be 100 reasons that it won’t work or rejection after rejection may come in your path but if you keep putting one foot in front of the other. Study your craft.  Refine it.  Develop it.  Display it and then Refine it some more, incredible things can happen.  I guarantee that nothing will happen if you do nothing.  If you don’t try, learn, launch and learn some more, your goal will never be reached.  Even if you learn what not to do, you learned something and that’s a major accomplishment within itself.  Life is so, so short that you should give yourself a congratulatory pat on the back when you figure out what you are NOT meant to do as much as what you were BORN to do.  When you figure that out, jump out of bed every morning with a passion, purpose and push to do only those things that you were born to do.  I do that every day.  Distractions come.  Other opportunities are presented but if they don’t align with my purpose, I may consider it but eventually will say no.  I want to love what I do each day.  Don’t you?  With that said, what were you born to do?  In this month of February, are you doing what you love, learning about it everyday and ready to lead the way in the industry, career or your business?  I hope so but if you need help, I am offering my book and journal, “Plan B” for $15.00.  This book is designed for those people who are looking at their life differently, need to ask themselves some hard questions and strive to get some real answers.  Click here to get your copy today!
