Happy New Year – This Year Your Book Will Be Published!

happy new year

Happy New Year!  Well, it is time to finally stop dreaming, wishing and talking about writing a book.  Let’s get the book written and contact a BK Royston Publishing representative to see how we can get your book on the selves.

Write!

Write! Now I know you thought I was going to come up with something profound and revelatory but, no, just write.  If you really love something, you will find time for it.  You will get up early, stay up late or go without sleep at all for whatever you really love and committed to.  There are no excuses!  Pay a responsible teenage babysitter in pizza and soda for 2 hours of quiet to write. There is no one to blame but, yourself if you don’t get that book written.  Be creative.  Be determined but, finish.

Get a Coach or Mentor

If you are not an experienced writer, find a writing coach or mentor.  Solicit the services of someone you trust, well respected and really supports your writing.  Writing is a personal endeavor and you should have a coach or mentor who wants you to bring out the best in your writing and not tear you down personally in the process.  All great actors, artists, athletes or even successful employees have a coach or mentor.  So should you.

Save or Sacrifice for it!

People say that they don’t have the money to pay to have a book published, self-publish or even to conduct research on publishing companies.  There is the free public library in your city that you pay taxes to keep stocked with books.  Go to the library.  It would surprise you how much money you would save if you avoided the clearance sales for 2 or 3 seasons.  You sacrificed for that concert outfit, the tickets, pre-dinner drinks, dinner, post-dinner drinks, the club and anything else that helped you look your best.  Make up mind.  Plan for it and Make it Happen.

Be Ready to Live it!

If you desire to be a published author and take it seriously, there is a certain level of commitment, dedication to the industry and personal responsibility to learn as much as possible.  You should become a human sponge of writing, publishing and being a good entrepreneur no matter the level or platform.

A pine coned tree with lots of presents draped with bright colored paper and bows underneath.  Chestnuts roasting on that open fire.  Mistletoe perched above the front door.  Stockings hung on the mantle.  A turkey baking in the oven and hot chocolate in mugs topped with loads of marshmallows.  The baby Jesus in the manger with the wise men coming to see him in the usual spot on the mantle.  Who doesn’t love Christmas right?  Okay, Scrooge.  Besides Scrooge, most people have great memories of Christmas.  The anticipation seems unbearable and  the long list from the kids for Santa seems to get longer and more expensive every year.  In the midst of it all, there is love.  Love for family, friends and a heart that reaches out for those  in need.

BK Royston Publishing, LLC is pleased to release its third anthology that is dedicated to true Love and Christmas.  The Miracle of Love at Christmas is a collection of short  stories and poems sure to have you sitting at the cozy fireplace with the book, iPad, Kindle, Nook, tablet or other mobile device on your lap.  This collection of stories are authored by first time as well as seasoned authors.   Relax and Enjoy The Miracle of Love at Christmas

Meet Mrs. Sharon Hunter and Sustahgirl

DSC_0358                                                 sustah girl cover and the annoying sonnyboy cover

Describe yourself for our visitors. Where are you from? (ex. hobbies, favorite music, ministries)

I am from Louisville Kentucky. Singing is something I love to do so it is a ministry and hobby. And honestly I would say IM eclectic as it pertains to music,  I love all types of music. But my favorite is Kingdom music. I love my family and I love helping my husband Pastor

How did you start your writing journey?

Very first time I wrote was for the young authors club. The book was about a boy who was having trouble fitting in and his guardian angel came to help. Nobody can see the angel just him.  I think I was in maybe the third or fourth grade

Tell us about your current book?

This is a fun read for parents reading to their children as well as children reading and completing a book for the first time. It’s about a little Christian girl that sometimes gets in trouble. Sustahgirl is the main character and she is headstrong. However it’s mostly about family. We live in a time where we have to teach people the importance of family and relationship. Sometimes that can come and form of a good book.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

People, places, things ,child, and memories even comments trigger a plethora of thoughts that lead to stories

Ultimately, what do you want readers to gain from your book?

I want every young reader to gain a healthy appetite for reading. I pray that the spiritual lesson intrigues them to study more about God. And I really want them to have fun in the world of Sustahgirl so that if their world seems a little troublesome they can find a happy place in the book

What is the most surprising thing you have learned in creating books?

The discipline it takes to write every day something. The courage to sit down and do it, and the willingness to give up some fun things that you want to do so you can accomplish what’s in you

Name 3 things that it takes to make a successful author, in your opinion? Openness to receive direction, a passion for what you were writing about, and again discipline to do it

What advice would you give a new writer?

Don’t be afraid of the work. Be realistic about the work. And don’t quit

What can we expect from you in the future?

More books about Sustahgirl and her funny adventures. The name of the business is Sustahgirl Enterprises so also books to come that   Are meant to help women, single parents, others to overcome life’s troublesome obstacles

Where can visitors find you online?

Visitors can go to www.sustahgirl.com and purchase their online copies of Sustahgirl and the annoying sonny boy and more work with women processing through life and transitioning into the women God wants them to become!

Meet Tanya Liverman – Contributing Author to “To Mom, With Love”

IMG_0295 tanya liverman – Tanya R. Liverman

Describe yourself for our visitors. (ex. hobbies, favorite music, ministries)
I love to write music and poetry. I submitted a poem that gave three descriptions as a mom: biological, birth, and adoptive. As a mother of 7, including an adopted son, I wanted to share my experience, memories, and insight on this topic. Dancing is my forte which allows me to be equally creative. My favorite music is contemporary gospel and Christian. When, I’m not “doing anything,” I love to make my Native American regalia and jewelry.

Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books?

My favorite author is John Maxwell, and his book, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, changed my life. It’s characteristics of a leader charge me everyday to become a better person and leader.

What has been your experience with being a part of the BK Royston Publishing LLC Mother’s Anthology?

I love being a contributor to the BK Royston anthology. Having written and published my own books, it was a pleasure being able to have a professional company offer this opportunity and take care of the needs and demands of publishing. I am honored to be a part of such great work.

What’s next for you?

My next project, Reflections from the Soul, is due to release very soon. This book is only part of the project. It is a poetry book with 10 spoken word titles and their summaries that inspire and encourage life’s journey. The main poem entitled, “Reflections from the Soul,” is about my Native American heritage. It goes deep into my childhood and dispels some of the myths about my culture. To complete the project, I produced an originally composed album with music written by artists across the nation, to help paint my emotions of each spoken word.
